Early acclaim for my newest book:

“I appreciate [Heather’s] ability to convey self-compassion to herself and others throughout the book. She also normalizes the trauma response in a way that others can find hope and healing. Her writing style is such that I felt like I was sitting next to her listening to her share her story.”

“An unexpected look at the life of an apparently strong woman…I opened the cover and was so taken in that I read it straight through! It is well written, compassionate, and informative. You may recognize yourself or others as you read this intelligently written memoir.”

hello.

I’ve studied. I’ve practiced. I’ve worked. But, most importantly, I’ve lived.

Like most therapists who become advocates, my lived experiences have informed my specializations, my learning, my writing, and my speaking. To know that I practice as a therapist who specializes in neurodiversity, trauma, and recovery from narcissistic abuse, is to know me.

While in the therapy room I give space for others to share their stories and heal, in my writing, podcasting, and public speaking, I not only share my professional expertise, but also the very vulnerable reality of my story. I do this with intention. To give voice for all those who can’t speak. To raise awareness and education for all those who have no idea. To speak into the dark corners of someone’s life and let them know they are not alone. To shout light into the dark corners of the world that still need changing.

And so, I hope that as you read and listen and connect with me, that you feel encouraged, that you feel empowered, that acceptance, compassion and curiosity grows, and that justice advances.

thank you.

with peace & joy,
Heather
